KAU Delegation visits Medina Governor to submit the Final VORISA Report

A delegation headed by the acting President of KAU Prof. Abdur Rahman Ayoubi met the Governor of Medina province HRH Prince Faisal bin Salman bin Abdulaziz at his office in Medina on 20/4/1436 H corresponding to 09/02/2015.

The acting president presented a brief report of Project VORISA – Volcanic Risks in Saudi Arabia, a 3 year study conducted in and around the Harrat Al Medina to assess the volcanic activity under the surface of the volcanic field.

Accompanied along with the delegation was Prof. Mohammed Rashad bin Hassan Moufti – Project Manager and Director, Geohazards Research Unit, KAU (GRC), Prof. Adnan Zahid – Vice President, Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, KAU and Dr. Faisal Alqahtani – Deputy Director Geohazards Research Center, KAU.
